Years after escaping an abusive home at age 15, the Founder of HaitiChildren, Susie Krabacher, was gallantly crowned the Miss May Playboy Playmate of 1983. At 18 years old Susie was not focusing on the unique opportunities a magazine centerfold could unlock; she was questioning whether or not God really loved and protected her as a result of her interactions with a depraved sexual deviant who was celebrated as a progressive celebrity entrepreneur by the vast majority of society. The experience nearly annihilated her belief in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Susie’s journey to rediscover her faith led her to the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere. During 1994 she traveled 500 miles from Florida and began the discovery of her passion and life’s work; revealing to as many children as she could that, “In this world, you were Loved.” Over the past 27 years that undertaking has grown into HaitiChildren giving tens of thousands of infants, kids, and adolescents a life surrounded by people who care for and love them. Reliance on the compassionate, lawless streets of Haiti, is likely to have been the alternative.
